Our own hatchery and modern ponds are located close to the source of the cleanest mountain rivers in the cleanest areas of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Spawning, rearing of juveniles and edible trout is performed in modern fishponds in accordance with the highest standards of fish farming and nature conservation. The current annual production of California trout is 1,500 tons, and it is carried out in pool farming at four fish farms: Volari, Volari II, Ribnik and Jezero. The total water area of these fish farms is about 30,000 square meters.
Trout farming in the fish farm Ribnik is located approximately 150 meters below the source of the river Ribnik. The crystal clear water of Ribnik for most of the year is crucial for salmon fish farming. Basic farming refers to the fattening of California trout. In this facility, farming is performed through eggs, larvae, juveniles and, finally, table trout. Ribnik fish farm has a total of 14,000 m2 of usable water surface. We feed the fish with high-quality extruded food from Western European producers, while impeccably organized farming is performed by qualified workers with extensive experience in fish farming.
The Jezero fishpond is located on the Pliva River, whose water quality and year-round water flow are an ideal precondition for successful trout farming. The water temperature throughout the year is 9 degrees, and the total water surface of this fish farm is 14,000 m2. Basic farming refers to the feeding and fattening of California trout.
Volari Fish Farm is a facility used to receive and hatch eggs as well as raising young California trout for the purpose of growing fish food in all our fishponds. It is supplied with water from the Volarica River, which has extremely beneficial physical and chemical conditions for trout farming. In this fish farm, we annually farm about 50 tons of juvenile trout on a total water surface of about 600m2. Fully covered and stationed next to the source of the river Volarica, this facility is one of the most modern hatcheries for fattening juveniles in the region with a high degree of biosecurity.
Volari II Fish Farm is a facility located 300 meters downstream from the Volari hatchery, which serves to accommodate juveniles from the hatchery. The pond is used as a breeding ground and farming of one part of pre-consumption fish for the needs of our ponds for the farming of table fish. It is supplied with water from the Volarica River, which has extremely beneficial physical and chemical conditions for trout farming. In this fishpond, we annually farm about 100 tons of juvenile pre-consumption trout on a total water surface of about 1200m2.
